Healthy Eating for Christmas
For Christmas and New Year people usually have unhealthy
meals , with traditional dishes and more! For some people, these eating habits
are a pleasure for others are generating troubles sometimes extending to
various medical problems. However, Christmas should not be a problem for those
who have to comply with different diets. There are ways to maintain a healthy
diet during the Christmas season.
Temperance
It's easy to say "You have to eat and drink in
moderation" but it's harder to do that. Several ideas in this regard:
Use smaller plates because the subconscious consider a full
plate, even if it is less true!
When possible, it is preferable to take smaller amounts more
prepared than taking larger amounts from fewer ways. For every glass of alcohol
or soft drinks, drink a glass of water. The water will saturate, has no
calories or side effects, is inexpensive. Discard the table as soon as everyone
has finished eating, so you do not have where "nibble" later during
the discussions at Christmas dinner. Prepare your own drinks with real fruit
juice drink instead conservate.Nu put on the table all the food available in
the house, so people do not serve more than they can do well.
Vegetables
Prepare vegetables as little as possible. Not fried.
Choose a salad rather than baked vegetable fat.
Use spices and herbs to flavor vegetables, no butter or
sauces.
Prepare steam vegetables rather than boiling - will be
healthier and tastier!
Choose a spicy potato salad instead of potato salad with
mayonnaise. An even better choice would be to avoid potatoes and choice of a
green salad.
Avoid ham and salami in salads.
Grilled vegetables are delicious and a little exotic - a
grilled vegetable platter looks great and can be prepared on the grill to save
space in the kitchen.
Baked potatoes can be covered with yogurt or cottage cheese
sauce instead of butter.
Sauces can liven up a salad without adding calories. Try
lemon juice or vinegar (there are several!) Or fresh herbs.
Meat
Remove the fat from the meat as possible before cooking.
Serving fresh fish and seafood instead of red meat steak.
Coat the meat with lemon juice (alone or mixed with garlic
and herbs).
If possible cook or roast meat grilled rather than fried.
If you roast pork rind and remove all fat before cooking. Of
fat and rind cracklings can be made, although these are not very healthy!
Desserts
Choose a fruit platter or fresh fruit salad - an appealing
choice for a hot day of Christmas!
Avoid crust desserts such as pies and cheese.
Have fun with a sweet fondue sauce over fresh fruit or
yogurt.
Mixed fruit with yogurt, even frozen, are a delicious
choice. Sprinkle them with chocolate and no one will know it's a healthy
choice!
Sorbets can be a great end to any meal. However, choose a
recipe with no added sugar high.
Make a fruitcake mashed instead of oil or butter.
Instead of one egg, try using two egg whites.
Use cream cheese or fresh fruit to decorate the cake rather
than chocolate or meringue.
Do not forget!
Choose breads Choose low fat sauces are healthier!
Instead of a bowl of candy or chocolate for guests, why not
give a bowl of cherries or grapes?
Bake fresh bread or bagels to use them instead of chips, if
served spicy sauces (dips). Add sliced vegetables to platter to garnish.
I hope to help you these advices!
